Ward Councillors' update

9/27/2013

Following the Holbeck Neighbourhood Forum meeting on Saturday 7th September, we wanted to share with you an update on some exciting projects we are supporting in Holbeck.  Through our wellbeing funding we have paid for Ellie Rogers, the Neighbourhood Improvement Officer, to support the Holbeck Neighbourhood Forum and the Neighbourhood Plan. Ellie works with the Community Projects Task Group which aims to make Holbeck a better place to live now and try to increase participation in the Neighbourhood Plan through holding events and activities. The group intends to hold a community bonfire, a Christmas lights switch on and have a pop-up space in Holbeck. The work of this group is supported by a budget of £3,000 we have allocated to be spent on small community projects in Holbeck.  We have also paid for Christmas Lights on Holbeck Moor. If anyone wants to be involved in the Community Projects Task Group they should contact Ellie onellie.rogers@leeds.gov.uk 0113 395 1658. Ellie also participates in various meetings to support the Forum and Plan.

We also want to improve the children’s play area on Holbeck Moor,  and we have allocated £45,000 for these improvements.
